keep2share
#1
Hello,

Is it just my current installation, or is there an issue with keep2share links?

95% of all links I view show as unknown (yellow icon).

The only way to know if the link is good is for me to click the link.  Kinda defeats the purpose of having a link checker.

It's been like this (for me), for the past few months.  Using both the old script, and this new version.

Thanks

I have not had a problem with them, links are checking ok for me

some things to try would be...
1. make sure you are not logged in at any of the keep2share sites, that can give a false reading.
2. did you try disabling or enabling the anonymizer service, CTRL+Z to turn it on or off. (refresh page to take effect).
3. if you are using adblock or noscript or something like it make sure they allow the keep2share sites.
4. are you running any other scripts or add-ons that could interfere with w.a.r.?,  try temporally disabling them and see it it works.

what browser are you using?

1. I don't appear to be logged in. If I follow one of the links, I'm not logged in.
2. I tested it both ways, no change.
3. I'm using AdBlockPlus. It's never been an issue in the past. I disabled it for keep2share with no change.
4. I've only got two other scripts running. I disabled both, no change.

I'm running Firefox v44.0.2

Also:

1. I completely removed the one and only keep2share entry in my password file. So I'm for sure not logged in.
3. Aside from simply adding keep2share to the ignore url list, I also completely disabled AdBlock.

Sorry i don't know what else would cause that problem for you.

Some others that had different problems said that they uninstalled all their scripts and greasemonkey then reinstalled greasemonkey and the scripts and things then worked right, don't know if that would help you or not.

I am using firefox 44.0.2
greasemonkey 3.7
adblock plus 2.7.2
no script 2.9.0.4

So I completely uninstalled Firefox, which is a pain in the ass, as even when using Revo uninstaller, config files are still stored. So a fresh install picks up all of the previous addons. After rectifying that issue, a fresh install of FF v44.0.2 with only Greasemonkey and W.A.R., I get the same results.

So it doesn't appear to be AdBlock Plus or stylish related (the only other two addons that I previously had installed.

So I'm in the process now of restoring my previous install to save myself some configuration time.

I think I narrowed it down to how a specific webpage is trying to protect the links.

They are using an antireferal link:

Any way around that?

From speaking with others, they are seeing the same problem. It doesn't appear to be an issue with the older versions of the script. So apparently something was changed along the way. As soon as I know the latest version that works, I will pass it along.

hiderefer.com is part of w.a.r., it is the anonymizer service.
if you want to turn it off hit CTRL+ALT+Z or open the war configuration page by hitting CTRL+ALT+C and on the settings tab scroll to the bottom and remove it from the box.

a couple other possibilities is a language problem, if you are not using English i may have to add new code for a different language, also if you are using a proxy it may also be changing the page code.

also Maybe keep2share is limiting access to your ip, try contacting keep2share customer service and see what they say.
some hosts sometimes block or limit access to people using w.a.r. because your ip is rapidly connecting to their site for every keep2share link and they mistakenly think it is a ddos attack.

I've tested W.A.R. with that enabled and disabled. Both ways, the link appears the same if I hover my mouse over it.

Also, it's not just me that is having the problem at that forum. So it's not an account or IP issue.

As I stated, at least one of the older W.A.R. scripts works as it should. The new version does not. So that also eliminates an IP/account issue and would seem to indicate a change in the script.
